Christian Horner faces significant challenges since Dietrich Mateschitz wants to fire him because….
According to reports, Christian Horner’s co-owner Mark Mateschitz of Red Bull is determined that he depart the team “quickly,” and he wants an announcement regarding his future within the next two days. After a female colleague complained to Red Bull’s parent business in Austria, Horner is being investigated for allegedly inappropriate behavior, which he fiercely disputes.
Before the new season, the Red Bull team is under a cloud of controversy due to the incident, as the reigning champions have to cope with an overwhelming amount of unwelcome media attention. Since the probe became public, Horner has been performing his regular duties and was there for the preseason test held in Bahrain the previous week.
It was reported by De Telegraaf that Mateschitz, the son of Red Bull co-founder Dietrich, would rather ‘get rid of Horner swiftly’ than let him stay on as team principal. Red Bull’s management is rumored to be at odds over Horner’s future, given he has guided the team since their 2005. It was they F1 debut.
The company’s 49% Austrian ownership is reportedly adamant that Horner quit, but Chalerm Yoovidhya, a significant stakeholder from Thailand, is reportedly of a different opinion. Holder of a 51 per cent share in the business, the latter is said to have ‘protected’ Horner thus far.
Red Bull’s external inquiry is now said to be finished, and the company plans to make public its conclusions on Tuesday or Wednesday. The board of the corporation has now received a lengthy study, estimated to be more than 100 pages long, and will finally decide whether Horner stays or leaves.
When Formula One released a statement in response to the Horner story, it also demanded a speedy conclusion, stating: “We hope that this issue will be resolved at the earliest convenience after a fair and complete investigation.”
“As we have observed, Red Bull has initiated an independent inquiry into claims made within Red Bull Racing. At this point, we won’t be making any more comments.
