At Albany Resort in the Bahamas, the site of the Hero World Challenge, which is being hosted by Tiger Woods, the Player Directors of the PGA Tour will now meet with the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (PIF).
Golfweek revealed during last week’s Players Championship that a number of PGA Tour players were scheduled to have a private meeting with PIF. Patrick Cantlay reaffirmed this on Sunday. According to a Sports Illustrated article, the meeting will now be held in the Bahamas instead of Florida, as was previously believed.
Player Director Cantlay confirmed that the negotiations with the Saudi fund were happening on Monday at TPC Sawgrass, saying, “I anticipate doing a lot more listening than talking.” I’m eager to find out what I find out, and I’ll have a ton more details afterwards. “I must listen to what they have to say, and if I am at a meeting in that role, I will always try to speak for the whole membership. It’s always preferable to know more. I don’t think our first meeting will cover much ground; it will be more of a meet and greet. Representing the membership as a whole to the best of my abilities is my job.”I’m all for it if a solution can be reached that benefits the membership as a whole. Despite not being confirmed, it was assumed that Woods would attend the meeting given his position on the Policy Board, especially because it is now being held in a location that the 15-time major winner is familiar with.

The 34-year-old was questioned about the meeting following his last round at the Players on Sunday.
