After a Year of disappointment with Tampa Bay Lightning the New York Islanders has agreed to sign a contract deal with….

After yesterday night’s game, as has happened a lot this season, I vented in the comments, saying that I was tired of the 2023–24 New York Islanders and that I thought we should poke a fork in them.

The Islanders are theoretically still in this, even though my dislike for them grows with each loss. To be honest, they haven’t finished it yet, which is why I am now really doubtful that they put it together. The 82-game season is nearly sixty games in, and we have yet to see them perform consistently. They might just be like this.

To ensure the playoffs, they should theoretically score 96 points; however, 92 points was sufficient in the previous season, and the Isles finished with 93, so I don’t think that will happen this time. Therefore, the Islanders need to score 36 more points in their next 26 games to reach 96 points. That’s roughly a percentage rate of.692 points. To achieve it, they would have to play like an 18-8-0 or 15-5-6 lineup. Do you think they can pull off that achievement?

The Islanders would likely need to win more than twice in a row at some point this season—possibly even a few times—in order to accomplish that, and they have only done it once. Once! The six-game homestand in December included a four-game winning run.

There isn’t much evidence to support the notion that these players are capable of succeeding, and it doesn’t even account for all of their collapses—they keep coming up with new strategies to give up three goals in 32 seconds, for example.

A regulation victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday afternoon is crucial if they hope to survive. Likewise with the Leap Day trip to the Detroit Red Wings. I hope they show me incorrect. Harry replied, “Alright, definitely, I’m convinced that’s a component you can be more effective at.” In my opinion, it is everyone’s duty to take care of those moments. Every game has its share of minor moments. The small things are, in my opinion, what are currently biting us.

Yes, that is a little irritating. That is our goal at this point. You only need to figure out a means to just shut it down at key moments, though, since we haven’t been doing so.
