Kyle MacLean Terminates his contract with NY Islanders and vow to…..
NY Islanders forward Kyle MacLean has been brought up by the team after being sent back to Bridgeport during his rookie season. Casey Cizikas exited yesterday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins with what appeared to be a hand injury, which is why there is doubt surrounding him. Hence, the roster move.
The longtime Islander was clearly in pain as he was seen taking off his glove, inspecting his hand, and leaving the bench to go via the tunnel after Cizikas stopped an Erik Karlsson one-timer when the Islanders were crushing a Penguins power play.
From January 19 to February 5, MacLean participated in six Islanders games as a substitute for Cizikas, who was out due to a lower-body ailment. In his brief stint with the Isles, MacLean performed admirably in a fill-in role. In his playoff game toward the Maple Leaves of Toronto, he scored his first NHL goal.
MacLean’s AHL season totals now stand at 6 goals and 16 assists. Since rejoining the Bridgeport Islanders, he has contributed three assists so far this season.
Lou Lamoriello needed to transfer someone on the roster to make way for MacLean. The manager transferred Hudson Fasching to LTIR retroactive to January 25 but hasn’t decided whether to put Cizikas on IR yet.
Despite practicing with the club on four consecutive days, Fasching missed the journey to Pittsburgh due to illness. He has missed the previous eight games due to a lower-body injury. He’ll be out for the games over the Blues from St. Louis and Tampa Bay Lightning due to the LTIR regulations, which require him to miss ten games.
Fasching has found it difficult to maintain the same grit and effort this season after making an impression last season and earning a two-year deal. He needs to earn a spot back in the starting lineup because he has only eight points in the past thirty-five games.
The New York Rangers maintained their poise, applied more pressure, and pulled off a huge comeback victory to maintain their perfect record in outdoor games, even though they had fallen behind by the three primary objectives early in the period that followed.
Definitely staying true to what we know, said Jacob Trouba, captain of the Rangers. “Everyone in the group came together, kind of stayed with it, and we were able to achieve our desired outcome. It’s a really great experience.
After Noah Dobson of the Islanders pushed the puck loose on the right side of the goal, Panarin knocked the puck in off him and goaltender Ilya Sorokin. The puck then slid across the goal line. A review affirmed the objective.
“I actually was overcome with feelings,” Panarin remarked. “I had to suppress my tears. It was quite the sight to behold.
The Rangers won their seventh straight game to extend their season-long winning streak to five games played outdoors. Vincent Trocheck scored two goals and provided an assist, while Erik Gustafsson, Chris Kreider, and Mika Zibanejad also scored.
