By scoring more points than they have in over 40 years, the New York Knicks defeated the Toronto Raptors 145–101. Their lead was unquestionable from the beginning to the end.
To start things off, Deuce McBride tied the Knicks record for most three-pointers made in a quarter, but all of the starters contributed. Mitchell Robinson’s comeback gave the bench a boost and seemed to energize everyone. The Knicks’ first-half defense relented for a change because they were so focused on scoring. Everything seemed simple to Jalen Brunson. Toronto tried to restrict him in isolation, the assault him with length, and blitz him together with doubles, but none of these strategies worked. The demise of McBride deserves notice. Deuce grabbed dimes in a variety of methods.
