Who is the greatest player in the world, Jon Rahm or Scottie Scheffler?

Golf enthusiasts have been eagerly awaiting the next Tiger Woods. His hegemony has subsided, and it’s more obvious that there might not be another Woods.

The fact that golf enthusiasts may now dispute once more who they think is the greatest golfer in the world is a benefit of that awareness, though. There are just two men left to consider at this point: Jon Rahm and Scottie Scheffler.

Rahm won the Masters the other week and is a two-time major champion. With four victories in a row last year, Scheffler even hinted late in 2023 that he would most likely cast his vote for POY for the Spaniard. The 2023 PGA Tour Player of the Year will be Rahm, according to the Golf Writers Association of America voting.

He’s difficult to beat because of his raw strength and amazing greenskeeping, both of which were on display in Rome during the Ryder Cup.

Scheffler is capable of doing it, though. According to the Official World Golf Rankings, the Texan is the top-ranked player. To be sure, almost every golfer has acknowledged the issues with the OWGR. I’m not referring only to LIV Golf players either.

However, Scheffler’s brilliance is immediately apparent when you see him play. The Jack Nicklaus Award, which the PGA Tour bestows upon the player they feel is the Player of the Year, went to him last year after Rahm lost to him.

Not to mention, he’s won two tournaments The Players Championship and the Arnold Palmer Classic, both in consecutive weeks. He also became the first player in history to win The Players in back-to-back years by doing this.

Ever since the Genesis Invitational in February, the 15-time Major winner has not been spotted in a competitive setting, raising questions about when the golfing world will see him on the green again.

The Players Championship and the Valspar Championship, which Woods had participated in before, were both missed when he withdrew from the event midway through owing to illness. At Augusta National, where he is supposedly on a Masters scouting mission, it appears that Woods has now maybe confirmed his next appearance.
