Transfer Completed. He agreed to a five-years,$250 million contract with Michigan Wolverines.……..
Things have gone well for Michigan since I stated in yesterday’s 3R report about a pro defensive coordinator target who had expressed hesitancy to be linked to the Michigan job due to concerns about how it might affect his pro possibilities. According to sources, Joe Cullen, the defensive line coach for the Kansas City Chiefs, is a top candidate for the position of defensive coordinator.
Cullen has been in constant communication with Sherrone Moore for the past week, and it is clear that they are interested in one other, according to sources in the agent and coaching circles.
Following a 69-59 loss to Rutgers on Saturday at the Crisler Center, Michigan has now dropped 10 of its previous 11 games and is alone in last place in the Big Ten.
Juwan Howard, the coach of U-M, discussed the outcome with reporters and considered what the Wolverines would need to do to break out of their current slump.
“Having competed at the collegiate level here and now coaching, I had never before seen last place in my life,” Howard remarked. This is the first time we’re going to work out a way to escape it. Naturally, we’re not going to give in to it. In addition to keeping up our practice schedule and honing the behaviors we believe will benefit us, we’ll also hold each other accountable for improper performance.
Additionally, Howard discussed the second-half breakdowns that have turned into a recurring motif during the losing run. Halftime has seen the Wolverines ahead in six of the ten defeats.
It’s not reckless, in my opinion. I believe—as I just mentioned—that when a team succeeds, there is sometimes uncertainty, Howard added. “We played Ohio State here, and we were able to take advantage of a run that was made by a team.” Naturally, one should avoid thinking, “Uh oh, here we go again,” and instead look around to find the individual who didn’t perform his job and point the finger at him. Although it has nothing to do with it, I’m not claiming that’s what happened [today]. “It starts with me first,” is something you must think to yourself as you gaze in the mirror. When things start to go out of control, you have to be the one to step up and take the lead, which might be uncomfortable at times.
According to Howard, the Wolverines’ prior NCAA Tournament success is proof that they have a “great” coaching staff and approach.
This stuff really works. Yes, it does,” Howard affirmed. With the way the second half have gone, I’ve thought about maybe using my walk-ons. I am aware of their concern. Most of what we ask for will be provided by them. Every one of them is on target.
