Worrall’s transfer from Forest to Besiktas has been finalized. Permission was granted for the defender to travel to Istanbul over the weekend in order to watch Besiktas defeat Trabzonspor.
The Reds, who face relegation to the Championship at the end of the current campaign, have decided to loan the 27-year-old center-back for the remainder of the season. Forest, who acquired Giovanni Reyna during the January transfer window, had intended to sell the defender.
On the last day of the January transfer window, HITC has been informed that Leeds United attempted to complete a deal for Worrall.
A bid for the defender was made by Leeds, who want to move up to the Premier League automatically.
On transfer deadline day in January, Sheffield United also attempted, but was unable, to sign the former Rangers loanee.
After searching England for a defender, Besiktas spoke with Jamaal Lascelles of Newcastle United. Worrall, nevertheless, became the Turkish club’s top objective for a defender, and they have now completed a deal.
